My skin is dry, dehydrated and prone to breakouts.
It is tricky finding a product that has the right level of moisture without being too heavy that it causes breakouts. Nirvana is an apt name for this product because it manages to reach that equilibrium. The proudly South African brand pride themselves by using only naturally derived organic ingredients.
FACIAL MOISTURISER FOR DRY SKIN: ULTRA – NOURISHING WITH SILK
PRODUCT INFO

When dissecting a product”s label, bear in mind that the ingredient with the largest volume is listed first.
Let’s break down the ingredients.
Sweet almond oil: rich in vitamin E, helps with UV damage.. The fatty acids help your skin retain moisture therefore protecting the skin barrier. It revitalises and evens out your skin tone.
Vitamin E: antioxidant that repairs and protects the skin
Essential Oils:sandalwood is calming and ant inflammatory and has skin softening properties. Geraniumpromotes regeneration of skin, helps keep skin looking clear. Cedar Wood helps to rid the skin of blemishes. It also has anti inflammatory and anti septic properties.
MY THOUGHTS
The packaging feels luxe. I like that I am able to recycle or re use the glass container.
Although it is for dry skin, it doesn’t leave my skin greasy. It absorbs very well and fast to a matte finish.
I usually use a moisturiser and an oil separately. But when I use this product my skin feels sufficiently nourished. I don’t need to reach for my oil as often as I used to.
I don’t know what it is about this product but my skin can’t get enough of it! If I try to switch to my other trusted moisturisers (all HIGH END) pictured…. I find myself layering this on top of that said product. My skin craves this moisturiser.
My skin looks soft, hydrated and noticeably clearer. I didn’t notice my dark spot fade but rather an improvement in overall skin tone.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Looking at the ingredients my sentiments are justified. The cream provides adequate moisture to the skin. The skin is able to lock in that moisture and keep the skin barrier intact therefore keeping the skin healthy. The potent combination of essential oils ensure that skin is looking radiant and is protected from the UV rays.
I absolutely love this product. It is a dream to use. The effects are noticeably brighter and more radiant skin. What’s not to love?
For this level of quality and the fact that it is organic I think that you are getting what you pay for.
It is available from Nirvana Natural Bliss website.
My skin is dry, dehydrated and prone to breakouts. What works for me may not work for you. Do a patch test first when trying out new products.

Washing your hair is a basic function. Here are some awesome tips to take your wash day to the next level.
Most women may agree that washing their hair is one of the most tedious chores. And having someone do it for you is one of the sweetest pleasures!
We all may know how to wash our own hair. It’s not rocket science. But we all may NOT know how to maximise each step to get our hair looking its best.
If you follow these steps the results may surprise you. A few small tweaks may be all that you need to get your hair looking healthier and less frizzy.
KILLER TACTICS
Use cool or warm water to wet your hair. Hot water is harsh for both your hair and skin.
Use a sulphate free shampoo. SULPHATES are those magic chemicals that lather into a foam. They are not recommended because they can dry your hair out. If you have frizzy hair like me, you want to stay away from sulphates. These days sulphate free shampoos are widely available. Aunt Jackie’s Oh So Clean shampoo is my favourite. it is available from Clicks for R75. DO NOT USE SOAP on your hair. Ever.
Add shampoo to the palms of your hands. Add a little water to lather it in your palms. Then apply it to your scalp using your fingertips to massage your scalp. This helps your hair to be healthy and strong
4.Repeat with shampoo. The first shampoo is to remove surface dirt and product build up. The second shampoo is to deep clean the hair.
Rinse well with cool water. Wait a few seconds to apply conditioner. Space it out.
Apply conditioner from the ends up. I like to tilt my head upside down. I like to work the conditioner in with my fingers making sure that I apply it generously to the ends.
Rinse out the conditioner well. Squeeze out excess water with your hands.
Use an old cotton t-shirt or a cotton towel to wrap your hair. Try not to use a regular towel. Rubbing your hair with a towel adds to the frizz factor. The towel fibres create friction thereby creating frizz.
While your hair is towel dry, add some oil or curl enhancing gel to help with hydration and frizz.
Try to air dry your hair as far as possible. Use a heat protectant before blow drying and heat styling.
Very often we feel uninspired to wash and care for our hair. By taking it back to basics we can ensure our hair looks healthy, strong and shiny.
